Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is this a race? No, it's an extremely interesting group "jog" with lots of breaks! We stop for a few minutes at ALL SIXTEEN historical sites on the Freedom Trail (we even go inside THREE Burying Grounds!). We don't just "run-by" the sites, we actually stop & explore them! Our run will show you Boston in an up-close and detailed way that's unlike any other tour. Bring your camera!
2. Can walkers sign-up? This is a running event, so you'll need to be able to keep-up with the group (to hear the guide). Our pace is typically 9-10 min/mi. If that seems too fast for you, another option would be to sign-up for one of our private runs (where we run at your pace!). 3. Can I run with a jogging stroller? Yes, absolutely! But keep in mind that there are a few staircases, so please be comfortable picking-up your stroller for short distances. Here's a picture of our "youngest runner" (so far)!
4. How soon do I need to sign-up? We have a limited amount of space on each run & popular weekends tend to sell-out quickly. We update this website every day, so if you see a run listed, there is STILL space available. If space is available, WE KEEP REGISTRATION OPEN UNTIL 7:00am the morning of each run (FYI).
5. What's the longest distance we run without stopping? The longest leg is from the Copp's Hill Burying Ground in the North End to City Square in Charlestown - .5 Mile.
6. Do you MAIL anything to me? - Although the shopping cart mentions mailing, we DON'T mail anything to you! We distribute T-shirts at the end of each run before we board the ferry (fyi)
7. Do you have bag storage? We don't have bag storage, so come dressed to run! Our guides wear backpacks and have some room to carry small items (keys, phones) - ask during check-in.
8. It looks like I'm buying a t-shirt? Am I also signing-up for the RUN? Every run comes with a shirt. To sign-up for the run, select your size, add to cart and then press "checkout".
9. I pressed "add to cart" but nothing happened! The cart is near the TOP of the page. (under the Google checkout logo) Depending on which date you sign-up for, you may need to scroll to the top of the page to see the cart (and click "checkout").
10. How do I order different size shirts in same order? Add first size to cart > click on the triangle to the right of "view cart" > add next shirt size > Repeat for additional sizes.
11. How do I know I signed-up correctly? After you sign-up you'll receive two emails. One from Google and one from Freedom Trail Run with further details about the run (meeting location etc.). If you have any doubt, contact us at: info@freedomtrailrun.com (or call/text: 617-398-0611).
12. What happens if it rains? All of our runs are held rain or shine! If conditions are not to your liking, you can re-schedule to any of our other runs that have space available.
13. I'm not sure what size shirt to order! Our shirts are Gildan 100% Preshrunk Cotton. The fit is "true to size". If you're worried about your fit, send us an email so we can bring a few extra sizes!
